Corporate Position...

While the share price determines how well you are doing in the seminar, having a good share price also helps you earn a good corporate position during the seminar.

OilFinancier has five corporate positions and each position provides additional cash flow. These positions and their salaries are as follows:

  • CEO for $5,000 per day
  • VP for $4,000 per day
  • Manager for $3,000 per day
  • Specialist for $2,000 per day
  • Trainee for $1,000 per day

There will be five financiers in each position.

Every 25 OF days, is Evaluation Day. The share prices determine which financiers are promoted to a higher position or demoted to a lower position.

The  administrator promotes one member of each group to a higher level and demotes one member to a lower level.  The financiers in each group with the highest and lowest share price make the move. In essence, you are only competing with the financiers of the same position as yourself for a promotion—or preventing a demotion.

The promotions and demotions only move one step at a time. It is possible for a Trainee to have a better share price than all the CEOs, but this Trainee can only be promoted to Specialist on Evaluation Day. Despite their relatively poor performance, only one of these CEOs will only be demoted to VP.

This process of promotions and demotions is reflecting some well-known business axioms that sometimes the better people are at the bottom—and it’s a long way to the top.

Manipulating Your Stock Price

Evaluation Day is coming soon, and you want to give your stock price a little boost to get that promotionor avoid being demoted.

Finding shallow oil on or just before Evaluation Day is the best way to get a little rise in share price. Finding deep oil is next best. Then comes  spudding shallow and deep wells that will not be finished until after Evaluation Day.

Intermediate wells really don't help that much for short-term manipulation of stock prices.

But there is a fast track to the top!

These positions provide an interesting edge to the game. If you like a little competition in your life, the corporate position is something to strive for while learning new skills.

You should realize that the seminar does not allow all financiers to become CEOs and VPs. Nor should attaining these positions be deemed as having "success" in the seminar. The design of the seminar actually has fairly low profit margins, just as in real business. If you improve your share price from a penny stock to a $5 dollar stock to a $20 stock, this shows that you have used wise negotiation and financial strategies—even if you  remain in the Trainee position throughout the seminar.

And in the later stages of the seminar, the extra salary is relatively insignificant. If you want a good position, you are playing only for prestige!
