Locations with Two Drilled Wells...

These statistics tell the probability of finding oil for a location that has two nearby drilled locations when these two locations are next to each other. In other words, the two wells with "results" will be adjacent to each other, and the prospective well will be adjacent to one of these two wells and diagonal to the other.

The following diagram shows the relationship between location of interest and two adjacent wells better:

A

B

C

X

3

In this section, B2 is the location we want to drill a well. Wells at C1 and C2 have been drilled with known results. None of the other wells around B2 have been drilled.

A similar two-well situation is shown below:

In this case, B3 and C3 are drilled and have known results. Note in both examples, the wells of known results are next to each other.

The following statistics were compiled by creating 10 Oil Financier maps and randomly selecting about 40 squares of all ten maps.

More combinations are possible for more Oil Financier Statistics, but as areas of the Oil Financier map are drilled, it would be better to rely more on Oil Financier Geology. You decide when it’s more appropriate to use Statistics or Geology.
